T-Mobile inked a deal to divest its 800 MHz spectrum portfolio to Grain Management, a private investment firm that focuses on digital infrastructure and global-broadband solutions.
In return, the cell carrier said Thursday that it would receive all of Grain's 600 MHz spectrum licenses, as well as an undisclosed sum of cash.
The deal is expected to be finalized by the end of April, subject to regulatory approvals, with closing occurring at a later date.
Grain, in partnership with Black & Veatch, plans to market the 800 MHz spectrum portfolio to various enterprises including utilities, critical-infrastructure industry operators, and rural and regional operators, according to T-Mobile.
