Chunghwa Telecom (TPE:2412) and other network providers are jointly investing in constructing the E2A submarine cable.

Chunghwa Telecom will contribute over NT$4.6 billion to the total project cost, according to a Monday Taiwan Exchange filing.

Alcatel Submarine Networks has been selected as the cable supplier through an open bidding process.

The investment will boost international bandwidth, and diversify cable routes for optimized telecom services.
