Chinese President Xi Jinping is set to meet top executives from German carmakers BMW and Mercedes and chip giant Qualcomm in Beijing on Friday, Reuters reported Thursday.
The meeting comes as China seeks to strengthen foreign business ties amid declining investment and US tariffs, according to the report. It also follows the China Development Forum, where Premier Li Qiang urged global market openness.
Meetings between Chinese authorities and foreign executives after foreign direct investment in China fell 27.1% in 2024, its steepest drop since 2008, Reuters wrote.
