Peter Dutton has channelled election victories by John Howard and Tony Abbott to rally Coalition MPs ahead of the campaign, promising to fix the budget and make the community safer if he becomes prime minister.
Speaking at Parliament House ahead of Labor’s fourth federal budget on Tuesday, the opposition leader said Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was “vulnerable” at the election, expected to be called within days.
