1046 ET - Canada's autoparts makers are trading down after President Trump's latest tariff plans leaves no room for exempting Canada or Mexico. Shares Canada's major players in the space are tumbling, with Magna International down 7.4%, Linamar down 3.6% and Martinrea International, the smallest of the three, down 1.6%. Trump said he would impose the 25% tariffs on global automotive imports to the U.S., living up to his pledges to hurt foreign makers of cars and trucks. Earlier in the month Trump posted on Truth Social promising the tariffs will "permanently shut down the automobile manufacturing business in Canada." (adriano.marchese@wsj.com)
