Patriot Battery Metals (ASX:PMT) reported that its 2024 surface exploration campaign at its Shaakichiuwaanaan project in Canada resulted in the discovery of a new spodumene cluster, consisting of multiple outcrops spread over an area of around 400 meters by 200 meters, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.
Outcrop grab sample assays from the discovery included 2.11%, 1.55%, and 1.02% grades of lithium oxide. Grab sample assays from nearby boulders returned grades of 3.10% and 3.02% of lithium oxide.
The campaign included geological mapping, regional prospecting, and surface sampling.
It plans to follow up on the discovery with targeted prospecting and channel sampling.
Its shares rose 2% in early trading on Wednesday.
