China Western Power Industrial (SHE:002630) signed two contracts amounting to $1.68 billion for the construction of two power projects in Laos, according to Monday filings on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange filing.
The Chinese power company signed a $228.8 million power contract to supply and install an XTPPL 500-kilovolt transmission and transformation system to Laos Xekong Thermal Power Plant for two years and two months.
Another contract, which amounts to $1.45 billion, includes designing and constructing a 1,800-megawatt clean energy plant for Xekong Thermal Power Plant's project. The deal was signed with Singapore's Embark Aspiration.
China Western Power Industrial's shares rose over 1% in recent trade.
