Rogers Communications (RCI) and the National Hockey League, or NHL, said Wednesday that they signed a 12-year agreement for the national media rights to NHL games through the 2037-2038 season on all platforms in Canada.
The deal is valued at 11 billion Canadian dollars ($7.68 billion) and starts with the 2026 to 2027 season, after the conclusion of the parties' current 12-year agreement.
The agreement also allows for potential strategic sub-licensing for a subset of the rights, such as national French-language and a one-night exclusive national package.
Rogers Communications expects the NHL deal to be accretive to its shareholders.
