Alphawave IP Group said it has taken note of Qualcomm mulling a takeover offer, adding that it was confident in its strategy going forward.
California-based Qualcomm said Tuesday that it was considering making an offer to acquire the U.K. semiconductor company.
"Alphawave is confident in its strategy to become a leading semiconductor company and the value this will deliver for shareholders," the company said. It added that it would provide an update regarding the possible offer if and when appropriate.
There is no certainty that a firm offer will be made, nor as to the terms of the possible offer, Alphawave said. It has advised shareholders, as a result, to take no action.
Qualcomm has until April 29 to disclose whether or not it will make a firm offer for the company.
