Alarm.com's (ALRM) EnergyHub unit said Wednesday that it has partnered with GM Energy, a General Motors (GM) business unit, to integrate GM's electric vehicles and home energy storage products into its network of utility and market programs across the US.
The company said the collaboration will allow owners of Chevrolet, GMC, and Cadillac EVs and GM Energy's PowerBank home storage system to participate in EnergyHub-managed utility programs. The partnership will also enable smart charging features, optimize schedules to maintain grid stability, and support customer mobility preferences.
Additionally, the company said GM Energy PowerBank, launched in 2024, will provide backup power and help stabilize the grid during peak demand, offering financial benefits to users.
EnergyHub, which is a GM Energy-approved Distributed Energy Resource Management System integration partner, will offer access to eligible GM EVs and home storage systems later this year, the company said.
