Nvidia (NVDA, Financials) is expected to stick with its current pricing for the upcoming RTX 5060 Ti graphics cards, according to reports from TechRadar, citing leaks on China's Board Channels forum. The company is rumored to be preparing two versionsan 8GB model priced at $399 and a 16GB model at $499, mirroring the RTX 4060 Ti lineup.
Both cards are set to be part of Nvidia's new Blackwell architecture, and while no price drop is anticipated, there's also no hike. The move would continue a trend Nvidia started with its recent Blackwell series, such as keeping the RTX 5070 at the same level as the RTX 4070, while slightly lowering the price on the RTX 5080. The RTX 5090 was an outlier with a significant jump, driven by demand in AI and professional graphics.
Keeping prices steady on the 5060 Ti could be Nvidia's way of avoiding more backlash from gamers frustrated by recent pricing strategies. There's also the optics of the 16GB version outpacing the RTX 5070's 12GB, which may explain the cautious pricing approach.
The cards are expected to launch April 16, with an official reveal possibly a day earlier. Nvidia hasn't confirmed the release or pricing. Meanwhile, the standard RTX 5060 is expected later in May, though specifics remain unclear.
If AMD (AMD, Financials) launches its rumored Radeon RX 9060 XT below $400, Nvidia may face added pressure to revisit its plans. But for now, all signs suggest Nvidia is playing it safe with pricing.
