Communications and media stocks recovered some ground Monday after a substantial decline last week.
Internet stocks such as Meta -- Facebook's parent -- and Netflix were some of the sector's biggest gainers.
Firms with roots in traditional media such as Fox Corp., Dow Jones parent New Corp. and Disney continued to decline.
Match Group said it will ask for shareholder approval to change its board structure so that members are elected annually. Its stock fell.
