Santana Minerals (ASX:SMI, NZE:SMI) delayed the submission of its planned application under New Zealand's Fast-track Approvals Act for the Bendigo Ophir gold project and it now plans to apply by no later than June 30, according to Monday filings with the Australian and New Zealand bourses.
The firm was advised that the application's key consultant reports would not be delivered on time for its earlier planned submission date by the end of April, the filing said.
The mining firm is committed to developing the project within the existing legal framework of New Zealand.
Its shares fell 2% in early trading on the New Zealand bourse.
