American Electric Power's (AEP) Indiana Michigan Power unit said Friday it has requested the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission for approval to buy the Oregon Clean Energy Center, an 870 MW natural gas power plant in Oregon, Ohio.
The filing with the IURC describes why I&M needs this plant, explains its features, and outlines future operational plans if regulators give their approval, the company said.
I&M expects the IURC to decide on this request in early 2026, and the company plans further filings in 2025 for other resources that fit its Future Ready strategy.
