BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao will officially launch the Tai 3 SUV (sport utility vehicle), the first model in the brand's Tai lineup, next week.
The official launch of the Tai 3 will be on April 16, a report in local automotive media Yiche said today, without mentioning further details.
Fang Cheng Bao has yet to make an official announcement on the Tai 3's launch date, but said in a Q&A today that the all-electric SUV will hit the market this month.

The model is the first in Fang Cheng Bao's new Tai range and its least expensive. The brand's other two models are the Bao 5 and Bao 8 off-road SUVs.
Fang Cheng Bao began pre-sales of the Tai 3 on March 31, offering five variants including two rear-wheel-drive versions with pre-sales starting prices of RMB 139,800 ($19,040) and RMB 149,800, respectively; and three four-wheel-drive versions with pre-sale starting prices of RMB 163,800, RMB 173,800 and RMB 203,800 respectively.
The Tai 3 has five seats and measures 4,605 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width and 1,720 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,745 mm.
Its dual-motor variant has a front motor with a maximum power of 110 kW, and a rear motor with a maximum power of 200 kW. The powertrain enables the vehicle to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds.
All variants of the Tai 3 have a range of 501 kilometers, albeit with different battery pack capacities.
The regular version of the Tai 3 comes with a battery pack with a capacity of 72.96 kWh, while the highest priced variant with BYD's Ling Yuan automotive drone system uses a battery pack with a capacity of 78.72 kWh.
The model has a charging power of up to 237 kW and can charge from 30 percent to 80 percent in 18 minutes, Fang Cheng Bao said today.
It comes standard with BYD's God's Eye C smart driving system, and the smart driving solution is DiPilot 100.
Fang Cheng Bao delivered 8,051 vehicles in March, up 126.79 percent year-on-year, and up 62.91 percent from February's, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
