Boston Fed President Susan Collins said financial market volatility in recent days doesn't appear to have interfered with the ability of investors to conduct transactions, but the central bank has tools it could use to address dysfunctional conditions.

"Markets continue to function well. That's something we're watching very carefully, and we'll continue to do so," she said in an interview Friday. "There are other tools, of course, to address concerns about market function issues, and we would be prepared to step in to address those if they developed. But again, that's not something we're seeing right now."
