BWX Technologies (BWXT) said Wednesday that Strategic Storage Partners, its joint venture with APTIM Federal Services, was awarded a US Department of Energy contract to manage and operate the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.
The contract's estimated value is about $2.6 billion over 10 years, including a five-year base period and one five-year extension option, BWX said.
The contract scope includes operating and maintaining the Strategic Petroleum Reserve's facilities and related systems, the company said.
