TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian government and Russia organized the Roscongress International Business Forum at Raffles Hotel, Jakarta, on Monday, April 14, 2025. Several speakers are scheduled to discuss economic cooperation between the two countries. The event also involves the Russian Export Center (REC).
The forum will also bring together more than 30 Russian companies, including digital solution providers, food product companies, specialized equipment manufacturers, and other industries. Veronika Nikishina, the Director General of the Russian Export Center, stated that Indonesia is one of Russia's most promising export destinations.
Nikishina emphasized that Indonesia's global influence continues to grow, considering it has the largest economy in Southeast Asia and is a new member of BRICS. She believes now is the right time for Russian businesses to enter the Indonesian market and utilize all available tools and opportunities.
"In Jakarta, with the support of REC, companies will showcase a wide range of products and solutions, ranging from food to information technology," Nikishina said in an official statement.
During this business mission, Indonesian entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to meet with REC representatives in Indonesia to establish business relations and engage with Russian company representatives.
A series of activities will help strengthen business relations between the two countries, improve the efficiency of export contract negotiations, increase bilateral trade, and enhance the presence of Russian goods in the Indonesian market.
Vadim Varaksin, the REC representative in Indonesia, stated that REC's mission in Indonesia is an important step in helping Russian companies to export. He noted that abundant resources and close economic ties between the two countries create favorable conditions for Russia and Indonesia to cooperate.
Varaksin believes that Indonesia and Russia must actively explore new areas of cooperation, leverage each other's strengths, and collectively ensure stability and sustainability in the production process.
Additionally, Varaksin advocates for both countries to strengthen partnerships in various industries, all of which will contribute to mutual growth and regional development.
The Russia-Indonesia Business Forum on Monday, April 14, was organized by the Roscongress Foundation under the Roscongress International brand and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin).
In addition to today's activities, the Russian delegation will visit Modena's exhibition space, one of the largest companies in Indonesia, on Tuesday, April 15, 2025. The visit aims to discuss potential cooperation and introduce Russian products to Indonesian partners.
REC's business mission coincides with the Russia and Indonesia 13th Joint Commission Meeting for Trade, Economic, and Technical Cooperation. This year also marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Russia and Indonesia.
