ICICI Prudential Life Insurance's (NSE:ICICIPRULI, BOM:540133) consolidated profit jumped to 3.85 billion Indian rupees in the fiscal fourth quarter ended March 31 from 1.74 billion rupees a year ago.
The insurer's earnings per share climbed to 2.65 rupees from 1.21 rupees, according to a Tuesday filing to the Indian stock exchanges.
Net premium income in fiscal Q4 increased to 163.69 billion rupees from 147.88 billion rupees a year earlier.
The company's board recommended a final dividend of 0.85 rupees per equity share of face value of 10 rupees each for the financial year ended March 31.
Shares of the company were up nearly 4% in recent trade.
