Shares of Rocket Lab USA were trading higher in the after-hours market on Monday, following news the company will be participating in government development programs for the U.S. and the U.K.
After the bell Monday, shares of Rocket Lab were trading 5.8% higher, at $20.25. The stock ended the day's regular session with a 2.5% loss, closing at $19.13. Year to date, shares are down 25%.
Rocket Lab said it was selected by the U.S. Air Force to participate in the $46 billion Enterprise-Wide Agile Acquisition Contract, which is designed for the rapid acquisition of innovative technologies, engineering services, and technical solutions.
The company also said the U.K. Ministry of Defence selected the company as a supplier to the Hypersonic Technologies & Capability Development Framework, which will work to develop advanced hypersonic capabilities.
Rocket Lab said it plans to bid for contracts and task orders served by its Hypersonic Accelerator Suborbital Test Electron launch vehicle, as well as other engineering, design, and launch services, across the two programs.
