Meridian Energy's (NZE:MEL, ASX:MEZ) retail sales volumes declined 3.1% year on year to 786 gigawatt hours (GWh) in March from 811 GWh a year earlier, according to a Wednesday filing with the Australian and New Zealand bourses.
All segments recorded an increase, except for agriculture, where sales plunged nearly 41%.
National hydro storage increased to 77% from 76% of the historical average.
In the fiscal third quarter, retail sales volumes fell 4% on the year-ago period.
Inflows in the three months ended March were a record third-quarter low across 92 years of historical inflows, per the filing.
Meridian Energy's Kiwi shares were down almost 1% in recent Wednesday trade.
