Asian equities traded in the US as American depositary receipts surged higher Thursday morning, gaining 2.00% to 2,004.70 on the S&P Asia 50 ADR Index.
From North Asia, the gainers were led by consumer lending firm Eason Technology (DXF) and internet and data center services provider VNET Group (VNET), which advanced 26% and 9%, respectively. They were followed by used car ecommerce platform Uxin (UXIN) and wealth management firm Noah (NOAH), which rose 4.8% and 1.2%, respectively.
The decliners from North Asia were led by video-streaming platform iQIYI (IQ) and mobile big data platform Aurora Mobile (JG), which fell 2.9% and 2.7%, respectively. They were followed by fintech firm AMTD Digital (HKD) and ad agency 36Kr (KRKR), which dropped 2.5% and 1.1%, respectively.
From South Asia, the gainers were led by financial services company ICICI Bank (IBN) and tech conglomerate Sea (SE), which increased 3.7% each. They were followed by telecommunications operator Telekomunikasi Indonesia (TLK) and financial services company HDFC Bank (HDB), which were up 3.4% and 3.2%, respectively.
The lone decliner from South Asia was IT firm Infosys (INFY), which lost 2.9%.
