1232 ET [Dow Jones]--Snap-On's rare earnings miss and 1Q weakness in tool sales provides limited near-term visibility for the stock, Baird analysts say in a research note. The analysts say they are taking a cautious approach until there's better visibility into demand or a bottoming in mechanic sentiment. Meanwhile, they maintain their more positive long-term view of the stock as auto repair tends to be resilient relative amid macroeconomic headwinds. They also note the company's U.S.-heavy manufacturing footprint provides cost advantages amid tariff impacts, especially from those on China. The analysts maintained their neutral rating of the stock and lowered their price target from $349 to $320. (kelly.cloonan@wsj.com)
