US equity futures were higher pre-bell Tuesday, rebounding from Monday's slide, as traders await quarterly earnings from Tesla (TSLA).
Dow Jones Industrial Average futures rose 0.8%, S&P 500 futures increased 0.8%, and Nasdaq futures were up 0.9%.
Automaker Tesla is scheduled to report earnings after the closing bell.
President Donald Trump's latest comment on interest rates weighed on investor sentiment on Monday. Trump said the US economy could slow down unless the Fed lowers interest rates immediately and that "there is virtually no inflation" in the country.
Oil prices were higher, with front-month global benchmark North Sea Brent crude up 1.2% at $67.04 per barrel and US West Texas Intermediate crude 1.3% higher at $63.25 per barrel.
The Richmond Fed Manufacturing index, slated for release at 10 am ET, is seen coming in at minus 6.0 in April versus minus 4.0 in March, according to estimates compiled by Bloomberg.
