0311 GMT - TSMC's expansion of chip production at its Arizona site may lead to chip cost inflation for the industry, especially in the U.S., Deutsche Bank analyst Robert Sanders says in a note. TSMC's Arizona site has changed from being a sub-scale plant to being a major source of future wafer volumes at 3-nanometer and even more advanced chips, he says. TSMC's proposed rate of expansion in Arizona alone is a major step-up of the current expansion pace, he says. The swift expansion points to both higher capital requirements and large customer commitments at 30% higher pricing than those made in Taiwan, the analyst notes. Shares are last at NT$856.00.
