April 25 - (The Insurer) - Mike Scholl, former chief pricing actuary at Everspan, has joined sustainability-focused reinsurer GreenieRe as chief underwriting officer.
Scholl brings nearly five years of experience from Everspan to the Vermont-based reinsurer. Prior to that, he served as senior vice president and head of casualty and specialty programs at Axa for one year.
Earlier in his career, Scholl held senior roles at United Casualty and Surety Insurance Company, General Indemnity Group, Allied Public Risk, Argonaut Group and Brown & Brown.
GreenieRE is a reinsurance company devoted to alleviating risks holding back decarbonisation infrastructure by leveraging commercial financial products, according to the company.
“I’ll be helping shape a next-generation, sustainability-focused reinsurer that’s redefining how risk and impact align. We have ~$200 million in surplus and are ready to launch,” Scholl wrote in a LinkedIn post.
In January the Coalition for Green Capital announced an investment of $200 million in non-profit (re)insurer GreenieRe.
