旅行者财产险集团(TRV)10月17日股价盘中大涨9.07%,引发市场广泛关注。此前公司公布的第三季度财报显示,净利润大增近三倍至12.2亿美元,合每股收益5.24美元,远超华尔街预期3.66美元的水平。
公司此轮利润大幅增长的主要原因在于承保收益和投资收益双双走高。一方面,随着个人和企业对保险产品需求增加、部分保险产品加价,旅行者公司第三季度承保收益由去年同期的1.36亿美元亏损大幅扭亏为盈,达到6.85亿美元。
另一方面,公司净投资收益同比增长近18%,主要受惠于固定收益产品表现强劲以及固定期限投资的增长。值得注意的是,尽管海伦飓风及美国多地风暴导致公司灾难损失同比有所上升,但在承保和投资收益大增的拉动下,公司利润表现依然远超预期。
