谷歌母公司Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOG)(NASDAQ: GOOGL) 宣布，旗下谷歌云（Google Cloud）推出了全新Axion芯片，这款芯片采用了Arm控股公司(NASDAQ: ARM) 的技术，旨在提升流媒体服务的表现。目前，Spotify (SPOT) 和派拉蒙全球 (PARA) 已在使用该芯片。谷歌云还将Axion芯片向所有云用户开放，力争在流媒体与云计算领域取得突破，以此与传统的芯片制造商如超威半导体 (AMD) 和英特尔竞争。
Spotify首席工程师Dave Zolotusky表示，“Axion芯片的测试结果显示，其在我们云端的性能表现较以往提升了约250%。”
亚马逊云服务（AWS）以及微软的Azure也纷纷推出了基于Arm技术的芯片，以服务其云端客户。
谷歌云业务依旧强劲增长。根据公司2024年第三季度财报，谷歌云收入同比增长35%，达114亿美元。谷歌首席财务官Anat Ashkenazi表示，“谷歌云的运营利润提升至19亿美元，运营利润率上升至17%。这种增长主要得益于云AI产品、核心GCP和Workspace的强劲收入表现，以及持续的成本效率优化措施。”
