消息面上，据市场消息报道，长和出售港口的真正买家或为意大利Gianluigi Aponte家族，股权结构首次披露。长和在3月初宣布计划出售旗下和记港口80%的股权，此次交易不包括位于中国内地及中国香港的港口。据市场媒体表示，和记港口的主要买家将是地中海航运公司(MSC)旗下的Terminal Investment Limited(TiL)，它将成为单一股东。TiL由意大利富豪Gianluigi Aponte家族控股，贝莱德和新加坡政府投资公司仅共同持有约30%的股权。这意味着和记港口的真正买家并非此前传言中的美国人。
这是自长和宣布港口交易后首次有媒体披露交易的股权结构。消息人士透露，交易还需完成尽职调查、税务及会计核查，并获得各港口所在地监管机构的批准。买家承诺将保持港口的管理和现行营运规则不变，大部分码头仍会对所有航运公司开放。
此前，据财新，中国香港富豪李嘉诚家族控制的长江和记实业出售旗下国际港口再陷争议，旗下运营巴拿马港口业务的子公司Hutchison Ports PPC(PPC)，日前遭巴拿马政府总审计长办公室指控。
