推理模型正迅速成为人工智能市场上的一个强大工具，这些模型主要用于解决复杂问题。该报告补充说，亚马逊希望新模型采用“混合推理”方法，既能快速给出答案，又能在同一系统中进行更为复杂的思考。
亚马逊潜在的新模型也可能与Anthropic竞争。后者开发了一种包括推理能力的混合人工智能模型Claude 3.7 Sonnet，被称之为市场上的第一款“混合模型”。Anthropic得到了亚马逊和Alphabet(GOOG.US)的支持。亚马逊新模型还将与微软(MSFT.US)支持的OpenAI竞争。
知情人士透露，亚马逊的首要目标之一是让其Nova推理模型在价格上优于包括OpenAI 的 o1、Anthropic的Claude 3.7 Sonnet和谷歌的Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking等竞争对手。
大约一个月前，亚马逊首席执行官安迪•雅西曾表示，人工智能的推理成本将“大幅下降”，这对亚马逊的客户和业务都是非常积极的。
