Shares of Avient Corp (AVNT) surged over 6% in the pre-market session on Thursday, following the company's better-than-expected fourth quarter 2024 earnings and its upbeat guidance for 2025.
For the fourth quarter, Avient reported adjusted earnings per share of $0.49, beating analysts' consensus estimate of $0.48. Revenue of $746.5 million slightly missed expectations of $749.02 million.
Looking ahead, Avient provided its outlook for the full year 2025. The company expects adjusted earnings per share in the range of $2.70 to $2.94, with the midpoint of $2.82 representing an 11% increase from 2024 levels when excluding the unfavorable impact of foreign exchange. For the first quarter of 2025, Avient projected adjusted EPS of $0.76, which is in line with the prior year quarter and up 6% when excluding the $0.04 foreign exchange headwind.
Avient's CEO, Dr. Ashish Khandpur, stated that despite near-term macroeconomic uncertainties, the company remains focused on executing its strategy and delivering value for shareholders. He expressed optimism in achieving the long-term financial targets outlined at the company's recent Investor Day.
