10月25日,Tapestry Inc.(TPR)盘前股价大涨16%,报51.57美元。此前一名美国法官阻止了Tapestry与竞争对手卡普里公司(Capri)的85亿美元合并案。
美国联邦贸易委员会曾于今年4月起诉,要求阻止这起合并交易,理由是将消除美国前两大手袋制造商之间的竞争。周四,一名地区法官裁决支持了联邦贸易委员会的诉求。
原本根据去年8月的合并计划,Tapestry旗下的Coach、Kate Spade和Stuart Weitzman,以及Capri旗下的Michael Kors、Versace和Jimmy Choo等六个品牌将整合成一家美国奢侈品巨头,以更好地与欧洲大型竞争对手抗衡。
不利裁决公布后,Capri股价周五盘前暴跌约46%至22美元,市值蒸发超22亿美元。而Tapestry盘前大涨,主因是其无需承担合并的不确定性,自身发展前景获得市场认可。多家投行也上调了对Tapestry的目标价,表达了乐观看好。
