Amkor Technology's stock saw a sharp decline in the after-hours trading session on Monday, plummeting as much as 7.63% following the company's fourth-quarter earnings release and disappointing first-quarter guidance.
While Amkor Technology managed to beat analysts' expectations for Q4 earnings per share at $0.43 versus the $0.37 consensus estimate, the company fell short on revenue, reporting $1.63 billion compared to the expected $1.66 billion.
However, it was the company's outlook for the first quarter of 2025 that appeared to trigger the sell-off. Amkor Technology issued tepid guidance for Q1, projecting earnings per share of $0.01 to $0.17 on revenue of $1.23 billion to $1.33 billion. These figures fell significantly short of analysts' forecasts, which called for earnings of $0.27 per share on revenue of $1.42 billion.
