天风国际证券分析师郭明錤表示，台积电未来四年将在美国追加投资1000亿美元，认为这是一场双赢的谈判。台积电将可以为股东创造最大的利益，长远而言这将会是一个利好因素。 他称，虽然1000亿美元投资规模似乎庞大，但并无规范细节，因此台积电可根据未来情况来作出弹性调整，相信不会影响台积电的盈利情况，认为台积电最大的挑战是来自市场需求，以及能否在先进制程更进一步。
他续指，台积电的美国厂房平均毛利率介乎30至35%，预期会令公司整体毛利率下降1.5至2%，相信公司会进一步要求供应链减价来抵销此影响，而此举亦会创造更多新供应商机会。另外，台积电在美国设立研发中心，将能积极抢夺英特尔及IBM等上游的优秀人才，同时亦能与美国材料商更紧密合作研发。
