2024年10月16日,诺瓦瓦克斯医药(NVAX.US)盘中股价大跌近30%,报10.61美元,引发了外界广泛关注。股价暴跌的直接原因是,美国食品药品监督管理局(FDA)已暂停了该公司新冠流感联合疫苗和独立流感疫苗的临床试验。
FDA表示,临床暂停是由于2023年1月有1名在美国境外参加中期试验的受试者,在2024年9月自发报告出现严重运动神经病变的不良事件。此前诺瓦瓦克斯的相关疫苗试验中未出现过此类症状。
诺瓦瓦克斯首席医疗官罗伯特·沃克表示,公司正在与FDA密切合作,提供必要信息以解决临床暂停问题,并争取尽快重启三期试验。不过这一决定无疑拖慢了公司疫苗上市进度,加大了研发前景的不确定性,因而遭到市场激烈抛售。
