Quantum Computing stocks jumped in overnight trading, a day after a Microsoft blog post called 2025 "the year to become quantum-ready," mitigating a string of recent losses spurred by high-profile bearish comments on the sector.

Quantum Computing Inc. up 17%; QUANTUM CORP up 9%; D-Wave Systems Inc. rose 8%; SEALSQ Corp rose 7%; Rigetti Computing up 6%.

Microsoft on Tuesday unveiled its "Quantum Ready" program, which it said will involve working with quantum computing business leaders in one-on-one workshops and industry forums.1 The program will "invest in strategic skilling and access to reliable quantum computers for experimentation," Microsoft said.

AI stocks soared in overnight trading. BigBear.ai Holdings up 17%; SoundHound AI Inc up 2%; Palantir Technologies Inc. up 1%.

BigBear.ai Holdings said President Kevin McAleenan was named as chief executive officer, effective Jan. 15.

He succeeds Mandy Long, who is stepping down as CEO and from the board, and will serve as an adviser, the company said. Long was named CEO in October of 2022.

McAleenan will also serve on the board.

McAleenan founded Pangiam, which was purchased by BigBear.ai in 2024. Previously, he served as Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and also as Acting Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security during the first Trump administration.

Chinese EV stocks rose in overnight trading. XPeng Inc. up 2.5%; Li Auto rose 2.4%; NIO Inc. rose 2%.

Bitcoin surged above the $100,000 mark for the first time in 2025 and is now trading at $100,081.

Crypto shares slightly up in overnight trading. MARA Holdings rose 1.2%; CleanSpark, Inc., MicroStrategy up 1%; Coinbase Global, Inc. rose 0.6%.
