Nvidia stock rebounds 1% in overnight trading. Nvidia shares sank 6.2% on Tuesday, their worst one-day percentage drop since a 9.5% decline seen Sept. 3, 2024. The stock was one of the S&P 500's SPX biggest losers on the day.
Part of that could reflect investors "selling the news" of the event, which brought announcements around a personal supercomputer running a new Blackwell chip as well as a partnership involving driverless-truck technology.
Shares of quantum computing technologies companies are down in overnight trading following commentary from Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang at CES 2025, who in response to an analyst question indicated that while the company is working with quantum computing companies, the timeline for quantum computers is “15 years at the earliest” and “30 years at the latest”.
D-Wave Quantum Inc., Quantum Computing Inc. slid around 14%; SEALSQ Corp, Rigetti , IonQ fell around 10%.
Shares of Sana Biotechnology rallied 326.67% in overnight trading on positive results from a study of the transplantation of its allogeneic primary islet cell therapy UP421 into a patient with type 1 diabetes without the use of immunosuppression.
Sana said results showed the survival and function of pancreatic beta cells at four weeks after transplantation as measured by the presence of circulating C-peptide, with the HIP-modified islet cells evading immune responses. No safety issues were identified in the study, according to a statement.
