Quantum shares fell on Tuesday as quantum buzz fades ahead of Nvidia's GTC event. ARQQ, SEALSQ Corp fell over 8%; IONQ Inc., Rigetti Computing, D-Wave Quantum Inc. fell about 6%.
Nvidia's upcoming Quantum Computing: Where We Are and Where We're Headed session on Thursday will feature industry leaders, including D-Wave CEO Alan Baratz, IonQ CEO Peter Chapman, and Rigetti CEO Subodh Kulkarni.
Quantum computing has gained momentum as big tech firms enter the space. Last December, Google unveiled its Willow quantum chip, and in February, Microsoft introduced the Majorana 1 quantum processor, both of which fueled sector-wide gains.
However, market enthusiasm remains volatile. In January, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang cautioned that quantum computing is still decades away, briefly dampening investor sentiment and prompting pushback from D-Wave's Alan Baratz.
With Nvidia set to spotlight quantum advancements this week, investors are watching closely to see if the rally holds or fades.
