周一，受“暂停加征关税90天”传闻刺激，美股盘中一度直线拉升，纳指曾涨超4%，在辟谣后又快速回落转跌。媒体回溯“乌龙”产生过程：美国国家经济委员会主任哈塞特接受福克斯新闻采访。主持人吉米德问及特朗普是否会考虑暂停关税90天，哈塞特在作出回答前说了“Yep”（是）这个语气词，然后，说道：“我认为总统将作出他的决定……即使你认为贸易方面会有一些负面影响，那也只占GDP的一小部分”。
金融博客零对冲解释道，市场似乎把Yep错误理解成了同意的意思，但他这个Yep只是想表示他听清楚问题了。
