此次大跌主要受两个因素影响。首先，美国商务部部长霍华德·卢特尼克表示，美国将于4月9日开始实施"对等关税"，并持续数天。其次，OPEC+近日宣布，自今年5月起日均增产41.1万桶，远高于市场预期。这两个因素共同推动油价大幅下跌，进而影响石油股表现。
值得注意的是，美国原油期货价格已跌破60美元/桶关口，创下2021年4月底以来新低。布伦特原油期货价格也大幅下跌至每桶65.58美元。摩根大通预测全球经济在年底前陷入衰退的概率已上升至60%，进一步打击了投资者对原油市场的信心。OPEC+的增产计划更加剧了原油市场的供应过剩担忧，使得石油公司股价面临更大的下行压力。
