消息面上，公司航班与美军“黑鹰”直升机相撞后坠毁，美官方介绍说，事故现场已有超过300名救援人员。
华盛顿市长在发布会上表示，目前暂不公开事故遇难者和幸存者相关情况，对于事故发生原因不予回答，现在还是黄金救援模式，这些信息将在救援结束后由美国交通部调查公开。
华盛顿市长还在发布会上确认，事故客机上载有64名乘客，“黑鹰”直升机上则有3名人员，并表示，目前不清楚直升机当时在执行何种任务。
