美国电信运营商威瑞森(VZ)本周二公布的第三季度营收数据不及市场预期,引发盘中股价大跌5.1%。
公司最新财报显示,第三季度总营收为333亿美元,同比持平但低于分析师预期的334.3亿美元。营收未及预期的主要原因是手机升级数量减少,导致无线设备销售收入下降约9%。
营收疲弱不仅受到经济放缓和高利率环境影响,也显示出无线行业在市场渗透率提高后的成长疲弱。作为实力最强劲的美国电信运营商之一,威瑞森报告称,第三季度新增23.9万付费无线电话用户,同时固定无线服务新增36.3万用户,两大业务的用户量均超出分析师预期。
不过,净利润却从去年同期的49亿美元大跌至34亿美元,原因是威瑞森实施大规模裁员计划,导致产生17亿美元的遣散费用。
面对发展放缓的无线移动市场,威瑞森和竞争对手们正着手大力拓展高速宽带网络业务。上月,威瑞森宣布以200亿美元收购光纤网络供应商Frontier。本季度新增38.9万宽带网络用户,不过较去年同期放缓。
