当地时间18日，美国总统特朗普表示，可能不会让委内瑞拉通过雪佛龙公司出口石油。2024年10月1日，美国财政部海外资产控制办公室将雪佛龙公司在委内瑞拉运营许可证自动续签延长至2025年4月。
2022年11月，美国财政部颁发许可证，授权雪佛龙公司在委内瑞拉恢复有限的自然资源开采业务。该许可证有效期为6个月，此后将每月自动更新。但这一授权阻止委内瑞拉国有石油公司从雪佛龙公司的石油销售中获得利润。美国实施的其他与委内瑞拉有关的制裁和限制仍然有效。
