Shares of EHang Holdings Ltd (EH) surged more than 5% in pre-market trading on Thursday, as the autonomous aerial vehicle company announced a partnership with the Beijing Fangshan District government to advance low-altitude emergency rescue efforts.
Under the agreement, EHang will establish its national emergency equipment headquarters in Fangshan District. The two parties will work together to develop emergency response protocols for urban firefighting, forest fire extinguishing, industrial accident rescue, and disaster relief operations utilizing EHang's pilotless electrical vertical take-off and landing aircraft.
The Fangshan District government will coordinate funding to support this initiative, which aims to leverage EHang's advanced air mobility solutions to enhance emergency preparedness and response capabilities in the region. Investors appear optimistic about the potential for this collaboration to drive future growth opportunities for EHang in the rapidly evolving urban air mobility market.
