One key patent covers a composite moderator design aimed at improving reactor safety and waste management compared to conventional graphite moderators.
The patented moderator technology reduces oxidation and structural degradation, allowing it to serve for the full lifecycle of the nuclear fuel without needing replacement inside the reactor core. This advanced moderator promises to cut down on maintenance requirements and nuclear waste generation.
