据彭博社报道，奇瑞控股有限公司正重新考虑其汽车部门在香港进行首次公开募股（IPO）的计划，此次IPO可能对奇瑞汽车的估值约为500亿元人民币（合71亿美元）。消息人士透露，这家总部位于安徽芜湖的公司正在与潜在的投行顾问讨论上市事宜。
按估值计算，奇瑞汽车的市值将位列比亚迪、理想汽车、蔚来和小鹏汽车之后，但将超过极氪 (NYSE: ZK) 和路特斯科技。
奇瑞汽车成立于1997年，最初是由安徽省芜湖市的官员创办的国有企业。公司于1999年开始生产汽车，推出了首款车型——风云，采用了西雅特托莱多的底盘。最初，由于许可证限制，奇瑞只能在安徽省内销售汽车，但通过与上汽集团合作，该公司在2003年获得了全国销售许可证。
奇瑞的增长速度迅猛，到2002年已生产超过5万辆汽车。公司专注于自主研发技术，并于2006年推出了ACTECO发动机品牌。作为电动汽车的早期采用者，奇瑞在2009年推出了首款电动车。目前，奇瑞在中国和国际市场上销售旗下奇瑞、瑞虎和艾瑞泽品牌的汽车。去年，奇瑞曾表示计划在欧洲设立子公司，直接向英国、德国和法国的消费者销售汽车。然而，欧盟对中国电动车进口征收关税后，这一目标被推迟。
