在此之前，Warner Bros Discovery(WBD.US)计划根据J.K.罗琳著名的《哈利波特》系列小说制作一部电视剧。这两则消息表明，影视制作公司正面临这从自己拥有的知识产权中榨取尽可能多的收入的压力，特别是在他们已经从这些知识产权中获得了数十亿美元的收入的情况下。据悉，《暮光之城》系列的五部电影在全球获得了33亿美元的票房收入。
