Market Chatter: Mercedes-Benz Korea Faces FTC Probe Over EV Battery Misrepresentation
South Korea's Fair Trade Commission (FTC) launched an on-site investigation into Mercedes-Benz Korea over allegations of misleading customers about its electric vehicle batteries following a fire incident in Incheon in August, Yonhap News reported Tuesday.
The probe focuses on claims that the company failed to disclose that only some EV models use battery manufacturer CATL batteries. The FTC vowed strict action against any violations and refrained from sharing further details, the report said.
