Loyal Lithium (ASX:LLI) joined forces with McGill University to access a portion of a CA$1 million research grant from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, according to a Monday filing with the Australian Securities Exchange.
The university's Hydrothermal Geochemistry Group will investigate the geological settings of the Hidden Lake lithium project in the Northwest Territories and the Trieste lithium project in Quebec, and develop lithium-cesium-tantalum pegmatite models to aid explorers in identifying large spodumene occurrences, reducing exploration time and cost, the filing said.
Loyal Lithium shares fell 9% in recent trade.
