BlockBeats 消息，9 月 12 日，据参考消息网报道，彰化警方 10 日宣布破获以林姓男子为首的诈骗集团，该集团以虚拟货币进行诈骗，经清查有 68 人被骗、金额约 1 亿元新台币 (1 元新台币约合 0.22 元人民币)。警方称，问询后林男等 9 人被依诈骗等罪嫌送办，其中 2 人遭检方声押禁见获准。
彰化县警察局刑事警察大队副大队长张安进接受媒体联访时说，2023 年 9 月，有詹姓男子前往派出所报案，称遭网友诱骗加入社交平台投资群组，须面交现金购买虚拟货币，再将虚拟货币转至投资平台客服人员所提供的钱包地址。当詹男准备领出现金时，却被告知须再投入获利所得 10% 作为“税收”，才能领出现金，男子遭诈骗 340 万元新台币才发现上当并报警。
警方指出，警员前往诈骗集团在台中市租屋处要逮捕林男时，林男还到屋顶准备毁灭证据及藏匿现金，后见无路可逃，只能束手就擒。
警方表示，经清查后确认有 68 人受害，查扣犯罪所得包括 2 辆进口轿车、土地、现金、存款及虚拟货币等。该诈骗集团 9 人被移送彰化地检署侦办，林男等 2 人遭检方向法院声请羁押禁见获准。
